Cancellation Policy

You have the option to cancel a reservation made free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed date. We charge 2 full days rent for cancellation of reservations made after 48 hours before the agreed date or in case of no-show. For cancellation of bicycle delivery, a different policy applies.

 

Conditions theft insurance

This insurance covers theft and damage of your bicylce during your trip. That said, there are a few exceptions to the rule:

  • Damage caused by reckless behaviour or neglegence are not covered

  • Theft insurance is only effective if you can give us the keys. Without keys we will still need to charge the full amount of the stolen bike. This is somewhere between 300 – 750euro depending on the bike (excluding hybrids)

  • Insurance does not cover the cost of retrieving a badly/illegally parked bike. These are picked up by the city and they charge 35euro per bike to give them back

  • We file police reports for all the our bikes that are stolen. If we find the bike back we will reimburse you the full amount

Rental conditions

1. The Renter signs an agreement with Bike City (hereinafter the owner) after consultation of a established deposit and valid identification;

2. The tenant checks the rented property himself upon receipt for any defects;

3. The tenant is not allowed to make changes to the rented property;

4. The rented property must be returned to the owner before the end of the rental period, unless otherwise agreed in black and white;

5. The tenant is liable for damage to or theft of the rented property, as long as this has not yet been returned to the owner;

6. Damage and/or repair costs of the rented property are determined by the owner and must be paid by the tenant to the landlord;

7. The owner is not responsible for any damage directly or indirectly caused by the bicycles or the use of the bicycles as long as the bicycles have not been returned to the owner;

8. Transport costs and / or repair costs of the bicycles that break down on the road are at the expense of the tenant unless it can be demonstrated that the owner has been negligent;

9. In the event of abuse of the rented property, the tenant must surrender the rented property at the first request of the owner or his authorized representative, without any claim for reimbursement of his / her deposit.

10. The rented property remains the property of Bike City and must be returned immediately upon request.
